The only info that the game provided was that they have a connection to the branches on the white tree (also a wtf subject), they won't attack unless provoked or approached, that they were the ones making the clattering of rocks, and snapping of twigs sounds that are heard in the first movie, and that the one in the Parr house at the end of the game is called Ellis's "shadow".ĭoes anyone have an explanation for these creatures, or even a guess?

These "tree creatures" that we see in the game, and the protagonist sees at the end of the 2016 movie are never really given an explanation, or at least none that I am aware of (I believe they are the same creature, as they both behave erratically to the light, and both look near identical in appearance).Īre they denizens of the Black Hills Forest? Are they somehow connected to the witch, or are they just mischievous spirits? However, with the recent game (which I really loved, as it gave a vibe similar to the first movie when playing without using the flashlight) which has been confirmed canon, they discredit these creatures as being either The Witch, or Heather.
